Waiting Room #Challenge18

She felt pains
like a wounded bird
her joy was her pain
yet she kept pushing...

in excruciating pain
I became flummoxed
for her cervical stenosis
baby stuck in the uterus

what next nurse
Labour induction
body on fire
she kept on screaming

oh my Lord, help me
she pushed harder
with all her strength
in a heat of exhaustion

a river of sweat passing out
a day saw it
it was her hardest moment
to taste birth

I was in a moment of anguish
fear ruining my heart
emotionally I was dying
like a flicker of light

child birth is not a friendly process
it's a big deal
don't rely on your strength
pray as never before

before God and man
nurses paved a passage
by perineal laceration
the baby arrives
