No more high-fives or shaking hands
No more fist-bumps for sporting fans
There won't be kissing or hugs for me
Not if I want to be virus free

The world has changed, you can't deny
A little bug has changed the rules
Death is touching, we don't know why
This fucking germ is so cruel

Comfort food is taking the place
Of interaction face-to-face
Stay over there, don't come near
I'll blow you kisses, sweetest dear

Shoulder hugs and grabbing your neck
I won't let you touch me
It's virtual now, you can pay by check
Scared touch myself to pee

So look at the girls from far away
You can't touch them anymore
Virtual sex is the thing today
At least that way you score

A well-written timing piece.
What I like about this poem is the sense of subtle humor -starting with the title- and all through despite the somber situation.

It occurred to me that shaking hands and hugging may well be a thing of the past. How I would hate for that to happen. I was taught that in a bad situation, where there is nothing to be done, that it could be beneficial to laugh or cause laughter. My Mom used to say that if she didn't laugh, she would cry. Rather than cry, I choose to laugh. ~ Geezer.

Yeah, me too...

I was taught that a good, firm handshake is one way to express your respect and liking for people. There are some that I wouldn't care if I never shook hands with again, because it is like shaking hands with a wet, floppy fish. I dislike those kinds of shaking hands. If you can't be bothered to give a quick, firm handshake, don't bother! You don't have to crush a person's hand and prove that you are strong or superior [Alphas are prone to this], but a nice firm grasp of the hand is a pleasure as it should be. has been happening a while. As per Pornhub and the like. But I think the future is not so much virtual.
soon we'll all have sex with robots. many advantages:

Sonnet to Bettylou

I’d rather have a robot than a dog.
A machine that’s personable and playful,
Internet smart and faithful,
That never barks. That reads my blogs.

We have sex whenever I want to,
She doesn’t eat or make a poo.
I decided to call her Bettylou.
The dog- I named it after you.

Bettylou could live forever
Or go in for an upgrade,
But the dog died last November,
Buried with your name on the grave.

So I’m charging the batteries of Bettylou.
She won’t leave me like the dog and you.
