Moonlit night; darkened sky
Scampering feet of little kids
Clothed in scary costumes:
Pumpkin heads, witches and ghosts -
Princesses, daisies and what have you.
Door to door
They march along
Clutching candy baskets in their hands
Giggling, smiley faces
Asking neighbours nicely,
"Trick or treat?"
Awed by the crafty costumes
Puppy dog eyes took hold of you
So irresistible!
Dropping in one, two or even more
They dash off leaving behind a "Thank you!"
Under the camp fire
Around a crowd of grinning children
And faces stuffed with candy
Scary stories often told
Within a minute or two
A change of mood:
Little kids searching for Mama and Papa
Running as fast as lighting bolt
Or maybe .... Who knows??
A sugar overload??

I think you...
did a pretty good job, considering that Halloween is not an African custom! The proper thing about the campfire is, that you wouldn't want to be under it, but around it! LoL I really liked your little aside at the end about the sugar overload! Pretty good! ~ Geezer.

Thank you Sir! Wow!!
Thank you Sir!
Wow!!
I agree with Geezer
You pretty much hit the nail on the head. You could however be safe in the light of a campfire. You definitely paint a clear picture of an actual American Halloween.
Well done
Tim
