Like Trees

We sway like leaves in the wind,
bend like twigs under pressure,
break like branches in a strong storm.

But we stand,
firm and grounded...
like trees standing eternally,

for our love has rooted,
grounding us.

Almost perfect..... Forgive me, but your poem is so good, I can't help but tweak it.

Leaves in the wind, we sway
bend like twigs under pressure,
storms break our branches

we stand like trees rooted to eternity
firm and grounded...

love has rooted us
to ground
and sky.

I like Ana's advice on the poem here Jess, it's got a good foundation although with Aussie vernacular..rooted has an altogether other meaning lol...
