Treasure Hunt

Sometimes I think poetry is
the time you first learned to skip
a rock across a glassy lake.
It touched the water five, maybe six times
before sinking below the surface.

You looked forever for the perfect one
to toss. Even though forever is where
the stone came from and returned to.

I don’t know for certain
all the places poetry can be found,
but if it lets me come back to these things
I’ll willingly continue the beautiful search.

Yes, I would liken a poem to a treasure to be excavated like a treasure.
I thought the poem well crafted and it felt smooth.
One little bit, the word should be [to] instead of too, on the end of the last line- third stanza.

Wow ,what a smooth writing. I'm not much of a poet but you seem to be. This reminds me of the dreamcatcher. I really enjoyed it and seek my own treasures from the past.

Hi Michael.

I thoroughly enjoyed both the subject matter and the flow of the poem. A wonderful description of the poetic endeavor.
