Many a time I wonder
If the human race means humans or something more sinister;
If the human race possesses conscience and intelligence,
Or something crude and poisonous from the dark underworld.
I wonder once more
If the human race is merely broken
Or just at its twilight,
Drifting away into the dark nights of racism and hate.
Is the human race lost in division and rage that
It has forgotten it is all the world there is?
That it is carved out of the finest of life?
And made the greatest among the strongest?
O let us brave our fate and be human again!
Let us together rise and breathe
The free and colorless air of humanity,
And share as one this colorless wind of life.
Let us sing this hymn of one human race
As far as the sky stretches, so sing
Until all that slumbers rises up
For a warm embrace from across the oceans and towns.
O sing, sing, songs of a great certainty
That our existence is neither by choice nor by bargain,
Neither by white nor by black nor by colored,
But by a certain mechanism
Of chance, of biology, of divine providence
Outside and beyond
The walls of carnal passion,
With no borders or boxes drawn in colors.
So, hold hands in unbounded love and grace.
As a sea, we rise and move in waves.
As tireless rays of the summer sun,
We melt our fears and dry up the waters of our troubles.
Above all, hold strong to this story so human, and so one.
Through its lens of indivisibility see the world,
And with its cup of love, drink from its river
Whose amazing color is one human race.

Hi Friend
Thanks. I sure will read your piece right away.
Hi Teddy
I appreciate your inspiring comments and, honestly, I love the title, "Through colorless eyes." Thanks for such huge idea.
I am grateful. Indeed.
I am grateful. Indeed.
I see the hope...
of all humanity. That as one race, one spark of light in this universe, we shall persevere. Let the humanity of all, shine a light that illuminates the galaxy. "We have met the enemy, and it is ourselves." We need to learn that. Why do we love stories that
show us accomplishing great feats of courage and winning over impossible odds? Because we all know that we can do it! It can be done and if we all stick together, we can do anything! You sir, are an inspiration. Your work gets better and better. ~ Geez.
