Thinking About Thinking Leads to Drinking

I think so much, and I think that’s why
My eyes, see my demise
Because to think like this, leads to drink, and this
Is to suffer, it’s no surprise
Cos when you think the thoughts that are deep
Is to climb a hill that is steep.
When you think like I, others ask
Why not think less, to lessen your stress?
But think about that question, it’s a problem that I delve in
It all comes down to this:
People say, it’s mind over matter
But the thoughts are not taught, it’s an internal chatter
It’s a paradox, my brain ticks like a clock
One day it will break and be shattered
That’s why I think, cos I know I’m on the brink
Like the clock that falls, one that is tall
Has further to fall cos of drink
Thinking about thinking, which then leads to drinking
I think too much, so I drink too much
This is why I’m sinking

Geezer

a young man from Sidney
who drank 'till he shriveled his kidney
It shriveled and shrank
as he sat there and drank
But he had so much fun
didn't he?

I'm wondering if you have half the fun of the young man from Sidney.
I thought that the poem was pretty good. The rhyme was tight as was the rhythm loose.
Not bad.
