sunsets come while Earth spins
Sun just flies through space
Earth and Sun have a romance
in progress --
terra firma orbits round
its bright star lover in heavenly ballet
affectionately -- rightly so
without her there would nothing be --
no flowers, wheat, squirrels, bats, sleeping babies, trees, flowing rivers, oceans, sand, tomatoes, fog or clouds, rain, pine needles, sheep or wool for sweaters, cattle, hogs or chickens, certainly no eggs of any kind . . . or leaves changing from green to shades of death colours in the fall
no wonder Earth loves the Sun
they play out their different roles
as lovers do --
with sunsets and romance

Rosina,
Rosina,
You are correct; without the sun there would be no life on our little rock. I suppose that our somewhat insignificant star (in relation to others shining) has a few billion years left to shine. I wonder very much if there will be anything left on Earth to observe it in even a thousand years hence?
English, being the word order language that it is, one may rearrange the words as one wishes without losing meaning wished to be conveyed, and even enhancing it. No meaning is lost with: without her there would nothing be. . . so I think I will leave it as is, but thank you for the suggestion.
Ciao,
Victor

This is wonderful.
Only crit I have is the list; I would have liked to see it more structured because it would be easier to read, for me.
The ending is...pure poetry.
Shirl is quite a muse, is she not?
Jim,
Jim,
Thank you for the read and comments.
Ciao,
Victor
Oh but the earth does shine a most beautiful BLUE
Oh but the earth does shine a most beautiful BLUE and from space the space travellers looked and it took their breath away, also lit by the sun of course.
I liked the idea of the moon and sun being lovers, what a lovely idea; there are so many fascinating things we learn and still are learning about the skies planets and objects, and so many equally fascinating theories and fantasies in myths and religions that still hold sway in the museums and about us among poets and artists.
Just to day on looking up Zorya which was mentioned in SHILAJIT by ngaioBeck, I saw that this goddess the morning, evening and midnight star takes care of the sun's light in that star, what wondrous creations come from such myths and stories.
Love to you Victorclaude, I enjoyed this,
