Something And Nothing

When a child I thought I could
unite the outer and inner.
Not now.

There are moments
when the inner comes alive
and suddenly I'm some where else,
I'm some one else
and walk with spirits
as just light.

Only for seconds, before the drear of living
creeps back in.

A loved one's voice, my daughter's knock
upon the door.
The tide's wash upon the water's edge,
hieroglyphs that may mean
something or nothing;
balanced,
then tipped into the future.

Geezer

I have the feeling that I have just experienced some deja vu! Ha, a pun of sorts! Yeah, I get what you are saying. A sort of inside-out kind of thing. At first, I thought to correct you with the use of [drear] thinking that you meant [fear], but I think that you have it right. "The drear of living". You have just communicated the feeling I have had of late. [The drear of living]. ~ Geezer.
