SISTER DEAREST

SISTER DEAREST
no forgiveness can enter my heart;
no love can claim its domain.
I looked with eyes blinded by
false smiles and lies unworthy
of the womb that once held us,
you painted me in palettes
of jealousy and hate, and tried
to destroy me with the venom
of a serpent’s tongue.
but I am older now
and mamma Is gone.
no evil can touch us,
no devil can curse us.
no prayers can save you
from yourself…
Christ have Mercy.

Incredibly strong imagery, incredibly strong theme. Another beautiful, if somewhat dark cameo, which speaks volumes, so succinctly.
I'm sorry you had this relationship, my experiences in the sibling department have been much happier.
So glad you've published another of your poems Joe.
Hope you're feeling a bit stronger Jxx

lovedly

they just show
by planting kisses
to earn fathers favour

when he is gone
they kick the brother so born
and run with the booty alone
sad believe me
'tis often true

in sensibilities we all
to live continue
for what else can we do
we don't have now
either
to share moms womb

alidzain

err this sunds as if you're angry. Still a good poetry, though.

for good reasons....but then...I feel for them
now...the fear anger etched into them
they all have lives now
their mates talked too me
wanting me to talk to them about
Mother...the great tyrant dictator
leader whom just wanted us at
her feed adoring her which
we did...but she had her own
demon and choices to make
and is gone

i became her and suffered it
upon all about me whom loved
me....i am lucky
the good saved me
that essence U taught me
about Geremia

but U are right
nothing can save us
from ourselves
my struggle to this day
I hold onto the light
knowing the storms
will always be here
till I go!

excellent poem
I like people who
speak how they
feel in expression

thank U!
