Why can’t I sleep the hours away
To dream of good things today
I tried to smile but I couldn't win
All that showed was a sardonic grin.
You make me cringe at horrors I see
I couldn't feel sad, or reach out with pity
What the hell do you want of me,
Leave me to languish in my misery.
When I see the horrors of today
In comfort, I watch the terror play
Forgive me if I laugh by the way
This is where I am left you see.
Don’t stand there, I'm in a bad way,
To hell with it, curse this sunny day
I hope it will burn a skin or two
I won’t feel, before I pass through.
I can relate to grief and many things
Though they make me smugly cringe
The satisfied killer’s smile is one,
That goes on a rampage just for fun.
I will return to sit in my worn chair,
Telly and house light the only glare.
There tell me in stories of bloody myth,
Things I know I have missed.
A drowning feeling just the thing
I would return to wreck my home
If I thought for one moment
I would be left alone.
Yet there are others hiding there,
Demons and fear holding my sway
So I will put the thoughts away
For another shit ridden day.

I wish they would bring back the number of visits people are making to the poems as it at least gave us some indication of how many people ever read the poems.
It is a disgrace at the moment when a dig the dirt or bad piece of writing complaining about things seems to have so many more comments than the normal poetry, being grumpy today.

I have little knowledge of most poetic layouts and forms, through lack of learning English when Young, as I went into Avionics and war machines so lost out on poetry and things.
I have been writing though since I was 15 and am in about 40 odd books and have my own published but the expense was too much.
I usually only critique the theme or if I see an obvious error, I did the first workshop on Critique can't recall what happened there just getting too old for having to much concentration, but I will consider your invite, Thank You! Yours Ian.T

I am not a publisher those are the numbers of books my poems and short stories appear in, there are places you can send work to and they publish the poetry, and if you wish you can purchase one or more of the books also you can join others in a compilation of authors and then all you have to do is purchase a few book.
Not sure if you have these in the States but someone will know.

Yes the middle bits are a little soft, what happens I just write, the start is strong, then I get distracted, then I have to finish and make it strong again, a bad habit..
I am a quiet man, but hand him over to me, and you would see the kill for the hell of it come out in me, killing is too good for him though, it would be to fast.

There are a few that I have taken off of Neo and put in my unpublished place this was one.
I did a little change to the middle as others suggested and have put it back on stream.
Thanks for your read, I don't really get shitty days it is fiction as all bad things I write of usually are.
I is spiritual and have no bad days no matter what, though I can grieve as others it is more a celebration of their lives and their return to that world I know of,
