She stayed because

She came with nothing
She came with everything
She stayed because one sided love was still love
She stayed because she saw glimpses and flickers of the man she hoped he would be
She stayed because in-between the bruises and tears, there were moments of promise and her heart hung onto them.
She stayed because she feared a life uncontrolled more than the one she was living
She stayed because she was conditioned to feel like she had to.
She stayed because going meant never coming back and she'd never given up on anything other than herself.
She stayed in hope
She stated in fickle contempt.
She came with nothing
She left with everything.

it sounds like a very abusive relationship (one sided) where He has all the power and she gets crumbs. I recognize the landscape!!! leaving with nothing material but the free air and freedom to make your own choices! nicely done!

despite my dislike for repetitive lines, this one can be made an exception; if for no other reason, than the fact that you would have to rewrite the whole thing and I'm not sure that it would translate well. I get the message and you evidently made a contact with Cat, so I will say that you did a good job! I don't see any typos or mistakes. ~ Geezer.
