Retirement

Retirement brings on activities
That were once wishes

With more time we have
The ability to roam through our minds

Follow our feelings and
Renew our thoughts

We endeavor to immerse ourselves
In creative adventures

Seeking to develop
Ourselves in personal ways

Hoping to create happiness
Before our days come to an end

Geezer

you have entirely the right attitude toward retirement. Obviously, you have put some thought into the idea of retirement. I hope that your dreams of what can be a most satisfying time in your life come true. Nicely done. BTW, I think the word you are looking for is; [immerse], not emerge. ~ Geezer.

Retirement is great. Time to do many things you were too busy to get to while working.
Gives one time to think about what is important in life and you are important in your life.

I think retirement is a time to find yourself without the everyday cares of work life etc, I really liked this one it gives a beautiful view of the next chapter.

Well Done

Hello, Clentin,
You have described retirement perfectly! 3 years now for me, and each word in your poem defines precisely how it's been. Great poem.
Thank you!
