Remember Thanks giving mama up there

No we are not bound to the
''blood''
in our veins
for each human it’s different
again and again
so an entity
7.5 billion we all remain
on this wondrous domain

you and your mom have
ONLY DNA
PARTIALLY
in common
BUT MORE
memories of
a few mommy
maammmeaa kisses
that DO remain
so from crying out to
mama meeee
we must all abstain
ere in our eyes
memory of mama alone
brings lots of rain
Maaaa is not going to weep for you
yes that must our life's mission now remain

Hi mom I will soon be coming
don't cry for me
I am seemingly happy

just ate your left over
Turkey
Thanks Giving
remember to me only
you gave your secret recipe
for that mom
love from me

Interesting take on maternal love. We love our mothers as well as love our fathers, siblings, grandparents, etc. Those left behind mourn, but love is an emotion that dies with us, I saw my mother die a horrible death from advanced Parkinsonian dementia. I took care of her till the moment she passed. I just lost 2 first cousins with whom I was raised-one to Alzheimer's, the other died, and her sister keeps asking for her. I still cry for each and everyone of those that have passed and miss them terribly. I have no illusions I will see them again. Dead is dead. I think we are all on separate journeys and no one leaves this earth without suffering. I ""see"" so much more now as I anticipate my own death, I saw each ""step"" in my mother's own struggle with this affliction. Wherever she is ,she is still my mother, my father is still my father, But no one weeps for the living. it is we who weep for the dead .But my ""nature"" is in the ""blood"". Interesting though, both my sister and brother are cold and aloof That too is a paradox of a""family trait.""

As for the poem. I would like to see how it reads updated. It is a good theme, but you are so capable of much finer work It is also much too ad hominem. Keep it general. People will have had to red my poem to fully appreciate yours -- and we both know that ain't happenin'. I have relegated much of my poetry to the UNPUBLISED list-otherwise known as the "poet's graveyard."

buona giornata,
Joe

if only I had met you earlier Joe
I would have been a poet also
not as good as you
but able to stand in your shadow
would you let me too

I know not may read me
but not poor Lovedly
as others elsewhere are happy
1000 read me or my works daily

I keep smiling
silly me
I am also like you hopefully
a Poet's Tree

From the pangs of poetry
let me be free
I seek of thee.....

You are capable of much better. I've seen your pieces in the workshop and they are far more organized and elegant. This is too much "stream of consciousness".

I wonder if any really know how much they appreciate their mother until she's gone............stan

Hi lovedly, I understand the ideas and memories in your poem, but as some others have said, this time your poetry is really untidy. No need for Caps, they sure don't add anything to the text. Words can be powerful without them.
Thank you for the dementia info, not sure what you're offering me because I cared for two family members with dementia. Hope you've nobody with that sad illness whom you love.
Best, Gracy
