Released Into The Wild

I am a man
my feelings are mostly superficial
barely worth naming
they live in a shoe box
stashed somewhere under
a pile of responsibilities

soured by time
and neglect
unfit for practical use
best they remain
quarantined

so, please beware

leave me and my 'feels' alone.
stop poking
provoking
stoking the fire.

If released into the wild,
the repercussions won't be pretty

A short piece to tell others that a shoe box may hold your life.
Loved the blunt words to those that may meddle with your memories.
Let the shoe box remain unopened, then others can ony build you as they saw you..
Yours as always Ian..

men tend to repress their "feelings" ( at least in my neck of the woods )
if pushed to let loose, they may erupt explosively, i.e. going postal

grandfather clauses should extend to men of a certain age...they shouldn't have to live by modern feminists ideals..."express your feelings, be more like a woman"

maybe younger guys can, or want to ...leave me out of it

thanks for stopping by. It has been quite awhile since we have corresponded,
I'm glad to hear from you again

best regards,
