The Raven

love is in the air
burning rubble
make my Martini strong like on the double
pierced right through the skin
perched up high as in the raven
penetrate as words adore in motion
penetrate as words adore;
music in the twilight of the air
there is was...

through lies of its deepest temptation
bold as to my dear brother
the over weight lover undercover
Bernie Sanders and the flag
Vito from Sapranos

Yet there in the distance the raven
Edgar Allan Poe had every right to know;
A trip to love a time before
fly in the sky
black as satin gloves

Nevermore. Nicely assembled with allusions to that which *may be out of our reach, in that it's personal. Poe, as you know, was a perfectionist in form. A contemporary of Dickens? I think so. Translated by Baudelaire, certainly a worthy topic. I sense the meaning, but its not entirely clear, which of course - doesn't mean that it is any less worthy. I like your use of words here, and I love the Raven as a symbol. I think it would be worth a well loud reading in a park, so you can hear it, and then maybe more sense will come.

Cheers.

Deep in the mere confines of a soul we are left with words exposed;
Charged with a language with words unknown...
See through their mess of words to know...
