PROMETHEUS

PROMETHEUS

Once I was electricity
fire electric blue
raging through
space and time.
a beginning wth no end.

Once I was a younger man
lost in myself.
I thought I would live
forever
but then I began to die..

This is another powerful piece. I like the economy you show throughout your work. I am not sure what feral Roc is gnawing your liver daily but I can say your gift of fire is obvious here and likely in the eyes of your departing students, perhaps a glow in the eyes that wasn't there previously.
I've grown used to the use of Death as a poetic device through years of reading Plath, Sexton, Lowell, Kobain, and Crane, so I have no way of knowing if it is simply the far off beckoning of a pan flute you are hearing or a more immediate thing of which I have no knowledge. For me as a reader, it's powerful as a last line and I hope it is a knowledge of a distant event in the nebulous future. Powerful work throughout. I applaud you sir.
