A diary of bloody horror
Set in Translyvanian wood
A tale of vampirism
A damsel sweet and good
Six hundred some-odd pages
A tragic tale is told
Of the Prince of darkness
And the secrets in his hold
The story of a hero
A staid and youthful heart
Who saw an evil thing
And bravely did his part
He faced terror and he triumphed
Saved the maiden fair
Slew the evil monster
And took her away from there
Bram Stoker wrote this tale
Made old Vlad a star
Created Dracula the vampire
Famous near and far
Fascinating stuff
I read it in three days
Got hooked on horror tales
And I still ain't changed my ways

Thank you...
It was the first book I ever checked out of the library! Mrs. Moore spent lots of time with me after school; helping me learn to read. When we left for summer break, she asked me to get a library-card and read some that summer and even though I would not be in her class the next year; come back and let her know what I had read. It was hard at first, but I was so engrossed in the story, that I kept reading and it got easier and easier over the next three days! By the time I went back in the Fall, I was a proficient reader, reading way above the sixth-grade level. I wrote a poem about her called "Mrs. Moore Gave Moore". You might like it. I'm sure that she would be proud of all the books that I have read and that I've become a poet.
