when politicos come a'knockin'
power lusting
wielding rightousness as a badge
indignation as a weapon,
be forewarned
the future is the past
the pendulum swings left to right
and back again
a Poe pit mechanism
slicing the spoils
pitiless as their gods
extorting amens
lock your doors
better fire or flood
than politicos,
crying
for money
or blood

I always struggle with poems of a political nature. I feel that points can be made far better in a well written essay rather than in poetic form. However, I do think that it can be done if the time period is allowed to attack the words as opposed to the words attacking the time. I think you have a combination of both in this one and that a few additional lines setting the stage would make this one a lot more powerful.
Thanks for the post as I, myself, am waiting at the door for them to knock. I have a few words I would care to share with them.

I had never been very interested in politics, but as I have gotten older I pay more attention to what they are spending our money on and the new laws they are passing or the old ones they are updating or changing, I think you have a good poem I would have liked a little bit more but what is, is :)
I think that our lives are only going to get harder the more they get us into debt the less money and standards of living we will have
