PAYMENT DUE

OK Jess, here's my "angry " poem. Await your pastoral............stan

I go to make withdrawal now
from the place I used to bank
where everybody smiles at you
..........like sharks

The place that I made payment to
for over fifteen years you see
on a home I'd come to think was mine
and lived with my family

until I lost my job

as result of
BANK FAILURES

Funny thing, those banks that failed?
---not a job was lost by them
----no bonuses were left unpaid
-------no executives' futures were left
-----------Dim

For they had you and I
to tide them over
to bail them out
to keep them rich
to help THEM out

A one way street

You see, my house had equity
so when payments lapsed
I fell behind
they "worked" with me..........NOT
seems the equity was theirs
.seems it was "only business"
..seems it "wasn't personal"
...seems stress of losing
job
wife
family
house
all
...........Mattered not
for mortgage was signed and terms clear

So here I am
--with clunker car
--with my gun
--with my grudge

A score to settle
MY payment to receive
Have A Nice Day Mother f$%kers!!

and articulated the same silent rage that fills many the mind of today's Americans. A good provacative write, very much a time-piece in this 'post-recovery' era. I like the title and the intended pun...
Nice one

I am still angered that the idiots who got us into this mess are not only not in prison, but still employed and richer off OUR tax money. Appreciate your visit................scribbler

lol I must admit I think you captured the frustration well, the way banks end up owning our butts and how we struggle along until that moment it all tumbles down again and we're broke. I am sure Jess will be by :P

Well at times the ones who are trying to get ahead always are the ones who get left behind because they have no credit reference. It's always amused me that someone who borrows is always chosen against someone who pays everything on time lol..It's an oxymoron.
