O holy shit Father …
Jesus stood on a hillside and said,
what the hell have you done to man.
Look at these murdering bastards,
they’re killing everything in sight.
The poor animals are trying to hide,
while these cowardly savages graze.
It won’t be long until they eat each,
a pretty picture, so much for might.
Can you not send down a human ill?
forgot you tried that, monkeys died.
Change this religion shit it’s useless,
all these idiots do is argue and fight.
No, you gave them freedom of thought,
they just picked up the ball and ran.
Even you’re so bloody mixed up now,
anyway what in hell is wrong with right.
They have the right to consume whatever,
being selfish and uncaring is not wrong.
There’s always the choice of another planet,
Yeah! I’d shut this one down, maybe tonight.
What about the bloody Olympic games?
only the horses compete as amateurs.
Letting them finish this five ringed circus,
won’t make this lot, in anyway contrite.
Comments
who said the horses are amateurs?
they might not get dollars but they get better food, shelter, health and education than the majority of humanity.
But that was not my point.
Towards the end of the 3rd stanza I thought you were leading an argument from religion via animal sacrifice, through to human sacrifice, to pragmatically make it just one human and therefore Christianity. Shit! You scared me man!
But you're better than that. This poem works at so many levels, yet could easily be read and dismissed as a rant. Cunning cunt, aren't you.
In 170 words you said sharp and pertinent things about religion, human behaviour, animal cruelty, environmentalism and consumerism. Didn't quite fit in an indictment of corporate capitalism, but it is implied.
And it reads well.
What more can I say? Morons love the Olympics? No, you already said that.
Thank you Jess,
Thank you Jess, i'm glad you enjoyed this. And i get what you say about the horses, some travel to race tracks in trucks. The bloody truck is worth more than a two bedroomed house, and we have a shortage of houses. Which i've no doubt help keep the price of a house sky high. Anyway thanks again, Regards Roscoe..
