I'm in a barbed wire canoe, oh lord,
paddlin, paddlin, paddlin upstream,
I'm in a barbed wire canoe, oh lord,
paddlin, paddlin, paddlin upstream,
I got no paddle, oh lord, oh lord,
paddlin, paddlin, paddlin upstream,
I got no paddle, oh lord, oh lord,
paddlin, paddlin, paddlin upstream,
it's de longest ribber in de world, oh lord,
paddlin, paddlin, paddlin upstream,
it's de longest ribber in de world, oh lord,
paddlin, paddlin, paddlin upstream,
it ain't de Yang Tse and it ain't de Mississippi
paddlin, paddlin, paddlin upstream,
it ain't de Amazon and it ain't de Murrumbidgee,
paddlin, paddlin, paddlin upstream,
De Nile is de ribber of all my woes,
paddlin, paddlin, paddlin upstream,
Denial is de ribber of all my woes,
paddlin, paddlin, paddlin upstream.

Love it. If I was musical I'd write some fantastic tune for it......... but I'm not. Still love it Jxx

I think I had the tune of some African American spiritual in mind when I wrote it,
but can't remember which one.
A lovely poem.
A lovely poem.
Unfortunate that you ended in a "barbed wire canoe" paddling upstream in de Nile.
Now, you will understand the endurance of the "salmon run."
But, please do not feel that it is designed only to you.
Try out Ganga, Brahmaputra, Irrawaddy, Mekong, and Chopra as well. "barbed wire canoe" is a common phenomenon.
The best thing to escape from it is to stop paddling and let one be carried downstream into the ocean. Freedom could be there. Good luck.
lol
De Nile - denial .... love it.
Not sure you should be using the Uncle Tom's Cabin approach for your write, though.... a little politically incorrect .... lol, just the sort of thing you like to use for a stir....eh?
Lol - brings me the vision of the blacks tricking the whites into singing Camptown Races in Blazing Saddles....
See you upstream

How can you be in De Nile, when you is more of a Darling you see.
Yang e sees, but there a warning bell does Ying.
Great read it was fun but a serious underflow, maybe a flash flood of emotion not the Pacific Ocean, just more rain again.
Take care of you good to see you working, Yours Ian..
