A NATURAL REFLECTION

A NATURAL REFLECTION : updatted
I see my reflection
this Winter day
in the morning mist
cold, still. steel gray
a strange connection
an oddity mystical
of sometime occurrence
of something more than me

I step through the hours
In painful motions slow
my heart beats to the rhythm
of a certain melancholy.
I long for my yesterdays
feel my mortality sharp and clear
and I fear death’s coming
until day breaks away
from night's visions surreal

I will shroud myself in the sun's blue morning
bathe in the cool fires of of each new awakening ,
taste the colors of a sudden rainbow,
know again the ecstasy of feeling
and wonder at being something more than i am.

This poem reeks of true feelings, the grey mist mirror image tells me of a yearning. A yearning of youth, when those grey mist mornings were coveted as the start of a new day. Then it changes to a more thankful tone, where it gives a feeling of, just glad to be alive. I wish you would change the last verse to.

I will shroud me in the sun's blue morning
seeking out the cool fires of of each new
awakening ,
tasting the colors of a sudden rainbow,
that ecstasy of feeling and wonder at being
something more than i am.. Regards Roscoe...
