What words suffice to gauge the worth
of she who labored overlong
to bring about your earthly birth
and start the singing of your song
ups and downs were always there
but time heals wounds that change a soul
and with the graying of her hair
came understanding and control
lines of wisdom aged her face
but inner beauty made her shine
her strength was never commonplace
and through the years it aided mine
I do not know where now she stands
but God is good to those who pray
and though she now is in His hands
within my heart she'll always stay

Hi Lonnie,
Hi Lonnie,
Sorry to know about the demise of your mother...heartfelt condolences..losing someone as close certainly affects deeply even though she lived a long life...your poem expresses your sentiments effectively...as I often do in such situations..I am sharing the words of India's legendary poet and writer Rabindranath Tagore in whose words you may find some solace...."Death is not extinguishing the light, it is merely putting off the lamp because dawn has come"...wishing your Mother's soul eternal peace...
warmly..
Thank you, raj,
Those are wonderful words, and I'm sure my mom would agree! She did have a long and full life, and where she is now, there is no more pain or heartache!
What a wonderful tribute to a
What a wonderful tribute to a mother,
it flowed along in the ether,
I'm sure it arrived where it should,
even though I do not believe in gods.
Love Ann
Thank you Ann,
Death is always the most painful when it takes a member of your family. Your sympathies are much appreciated!
Hello my friend
I know the pain of losing parents and thus I send you hope of time easing your pain. I would suggest she is on another plane and pleased with this tribute...............stan
Thanks Stan,
Like the poem says, she'll always be in my heart, and that's a comfort. Hope all is well with you and the Mrs.

Losing a family member is always hard, but we must go on I suppose. Thanks for reading and understanding.
Lonnie
As with mine your Mother still watches over you, in our beliefs they just pass to a higher level, where physical things are no longer of use, yet her love and attention will be with you always.
Yours with hands outstretched to join you both in thought,
Ian.T
Thanks Ian,
She will be missed for sure, but i believe she is in a better place! I deeply appreciate your sentiments!
Lonnie
My hearty condolences first of all. Sorry to hear the news but this is how life goes, doesn't it?
An exquisite write there. Your writing (I always read you even if I don't leave a comment ) has been always special and this is no exception, but the amount of emotions you've put there took it to a special place and make it a memorable one for me as a woman and a mother, I really appreciate it highly. I wouldn't hesitate to give it a noble prize or so if I am in charge, but all I can do for now is to bookmark it.
Very well done indeed.
PS.Any thoughts for punctuation?
Thank you Rula,
Your kind words and sentiments are appreciated and most welcome. I am grateful that you think my poem was suitable for my Mom's passing. Thank you!
