moon racers

Its a good night he says,
Its a good night
for a race in the full moon light

night riders that we are
our triumphs adored from afar
first gear,clutch let go
chain suspense tight
for a fight
to accelerate and shift into second
its the speed that must heed to beckon
the piston to combust
into pulsar movement
silver road and kicked up dust
canopies are silhouettes of adornment
and the streetlight shines upon first place
its in slow-motion lost in fragmented space
It's the third gear roar
where emotions scream and our engine's raw
exhaust is singing
I am winning.

I love this poem! especially:

night riders that we are
our triumphs adored from afar
first gear,clutch let go
chain suspense tight
for a fight

I nused to ride a kz400 1979. How I loved that bike. Rode it on my honeymoon trip to Canada from the USA. My husband rode his own Honda 900 Custom 1980. We had a blast! Thanks for stirring up those fond memories for me.

I have no suggestions, just appreciation for the work.

always, Cat
