Memory of You

what an autumn sky
touched with angel's breath
softer than the snow hiding
'round the next full moon -
endless blue as in your eyes

I hold you heaven bound
beyond the last spent star
there in your hollow home
I am of the deepest dark -
whispering your name

and if I chase my dream
keep your kiss alive on my lips
taste our memories as piquant
autumn allures the willing trees -
I feel your heart

but the seasons chant
I am without harmony
and when my thoughts rejoin
this fickle autumn sky -
you are gone once more

Geezer

just one little bobble in this one!

[angel's] breath.

I felt this one was closer to what I was trying to write
than what I had written along the same lines, so I deleted it
and started over! Maybe I'll try again tomorrow. I like it! ~ Geez.

Thank you for spotting "angel's" - I'll correct it! Sorry, I don't think I read your poem, but would have liked to. Autumn can stir poignant memories, and this rose to the surface.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

I can’t imagine the mind of one who isn’t captivated. It’s every day, morning and night here at the lake, it’s pure beauty and mystery…just like that poem up there. Whoa boy you got me this morning, thanksgiving, I’ve just come in from what I can only assume is new moon because the stars are in full orchestra. All their voices sing a song like this…oh muse!!!

Love!

some people view Autumn as a last hurrah before the end of it all, when Mother nature sleeps. I view it as beauty and a crisp view of nature and a riot of colors. and the night sky is brightly lit with glittering skies. I love to lay out on top of a hill and see the stories in the constellations ;)

*love & hugs, Cat

Beautiful thought. Yes! The autumn and winter skies have unique moods and feelings so different than spring and summer - all magnificent in their own way. Sometimes the sky, be it any season, brings thoughts and memories of special people to mind. Thank you for reading!

I have to say that the very last two stanzas speak volumes to me. I wish I have written anything close to this.
Just gorgeous!
