LOVELY ROSES

Roses are my fave...
they make one brave...
upon the button holes of kings
and
upon the graves of mankind...
roses we all find...

yet do we know...
Roses never die,
in the book’s pages
in the shelves of time
they lie
and...
that's why roses never
ever die

once you open a page of time...
roses come to your mind ...
the fragrance remains
and
love doesn't stain...
roses, as roses even though dry ...
come alive and forever remain.
...
roses never die ...
in man’s hearts domain.

your sweet poem has reminded me of the rose garden Steven and I planted oh so many years ago! the aroma was enchanting. and caring for the roses, adding fertilizer to the soil and carefully mixing it into the soil, was a lovingly pleasant chore. thank you for returning this memory to me.

*hugs, Cat

Nostalgia is the only medicine
for a fragrant memory
kindness for roses
you gave birth to

today the once only red views

but roses are and have always been my favorite; maybe because they have been tended and held in such reverence for centuries. The many, many colors that they appear in are of particular interest to me. They are said to represent a multitude of
moods and things that man has raised them for; births, deaths, marriages, and celebrations of all kinds. Great job of bringing
all that to my mind. ~ Geez.

I was attracted to the title and looked forward to see a poem full of rhymes. I believe you can do much work on the poem to elevate it's beauty and flow. Mind your use of punctuation so as not to distort the flow. Hoping you rework the poem to make it smell sweet like a flowery rose!
