love searching

What of love, true you say
Over the ages
I’ve read in many pages
folks trying to define love
in its myriad forms

Some say its infatuation
others it’s lust
many think about it as
singular sex

Moms love can hardly be so included

But in two human beings
of a certain age
and opposite nature
love springs like a fountain
from mid oceanic water

There is commitment
there is attachment
there is vouchsafety,
one for the other
it’s a relationship of two souls
one as being together,

Finally love ends in intimacy
a few moments of life
erupt in orgasmic sensuality
but that is surely momentary,

most of the time it’s like holding hands
seeking sympathy, empathy and human understanding

as two eyes transfix…
then none knows who else is around
these two have integrated
and intense, intimate love found
it flowers like a blossom in a field
and love does ultimately a progeny yield
as it traverses the oceanic journey
or sojourn
we all call life.
