Another day, I promise myself
Better things are on the way
Sometimes it's the only thing
That makes me want to stay
Pull the knives from my back
Collapsed, so weak I can barely stand
Bleeding out from all the sin
Someone take the blade from my hand
Trapped inside these walls
Be your own hero, so I'm told
Searching, looking for a way out
But every turn falls cold

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:
The poem "Loss of Hope" presents a vivid portrayal of despair and struggle. The use of metaphorical language, such as "pull the knives from my back" and "bleeding out from all the sin," effectively conveys the speaker's emotional pain. However, the poem could benefit from a more nuanced exploration of these emotions.
The structure of the poem, with its four-line stanzas, provides a rhythmic flow that complements the content. Yet, the rhythm could be enhanced by paying closer attention to the syllable count and stresses in each line to ensure a more consistent meter.
The poem's theme of despair and hopelessness is clear, but the narrative could be developed further. The speaker's situation is described, but there is little progression or change. Introducing a turning point or resolution could add depth to the narrative and engage readers more effectively.
The use of clichéd phrases, such as "better things are on the way" and "be your own hero," detracts from the poem's originality. Replacing these with more unique expressions could enhance the poem's impact.
Lastly, the poem could benefit from more vivid and specific imagery. While the metaphor of the knives is powerful, more concrete and sensory details could make the speaker's experience more relatable and immersive for readers. For example, instead of "every turn falls cold," the speaker could describe the physical sensations or specific experiences that make them feel trapped and hopeless.

Loss of Hope
Hello, Carrie,
I echo Geezer's sentiments. You are never alone.

The days are getting harder. I keep looking for the positive and hope that one good thing will lead to another.

Do not let go of hope. You are a warrior woman who needs to rest and recharge your batteries. I wrote a poem on becoming my own hero and it is an inner truth. Anyone can do it. They just have to stand tall with their backs to the wall and take a fighting stance.
I really feel this piece...every word cuts deep...
*love, Cat
Thanks Cat
I keep hoping one good thing will lead to another but the opposing forces are many and strong. I am one person who feels like I am fighting alone.
Rose,
Most of the things that you write are painfully, beautiful.
I don't know exactly where you are coming from. I am
sure you do not need my help, but if you ever need to be
encouraged I hope that you feel that way. It is never my
intention to offend.
Thank you
For your kind words and support as well as the read and comment!
Hi Carrie, I don't want you
Hi Carrie, I don't want you to feel alone, I want you to know, your words of encouragement spread love across those you touch here.
I love how your poem honestly gives the reader your truth, and I can sense at a preternatural level, you are scratching a very uneven surface. I'm sure there is more to come and it will be revealed in another great poem.
Your words are your release, use them to fly. They will bring you the hope you are searching for, you have my support. Ruby :) xxx

We are living through
We are living through negative times, but with each spark we grow delight, we become the flame, then the fire, until we are the sun. Take care and stay safe. xxx
Thank you
For your kind words
Be your own hero
Hello Rose. I don't know about being a hero but I do know you need to be selfish. You don't have to be unkind to people but you do need to put yourself first and if any one doesn't like it, well, tell 'em to f*** off. I learned that lesson when I was about 20.I have never told anyone what happened and never will but all in all it served me well. You are in a good family here, everyone has your best at heart. Alex.
Something I am working on
And have been doing... definitely not always easy but necessary. Thank you for the read, comments and support
