She unlocked me
with "help me
I'm a lady with a story
but it's not like jackanory,
more like "poor me".
I’m as helpless as a kitten.
"I need you like a compass
to guide me through this morass
caused by an unfaithful tight ass
whose bitch resides in Sweden
but it will be no Eden
when I’ve cooked his goose."
"I'm going to slowly roast his member,
the very essence of his gender,
from now until November
by which time it'll be an ember
and his Veg will burn in hell."
So I listened with some patience
to her tale of "I'm no sadist,
but he's deader than a haggis
if I have my way"
"I'll f*ckin' have his balls off,
he's like some Boris Karloff
that scares me every day."
I listened one more time
to this "Lady" Eglantine,
sweeter than a briar
but with spikes as sharp as wire
and found myself, once bitten,
as helpless as the kitten
I thought she once would be.
So like a stupid fool
I broke the golden rule
and told her candidly
what she could do with me.
She laughed so much it hurt her
but I could not desert her
though now I’m going to lose her
when all I want to do
is "love" her
from here to eternity.
Or was it the other four letter word?
Don’t be absurd,
of course it was the other word.
Hmmm. Yes, definitely it was that word.
But it was the first one as well
............so far as I can tell.

Dear Entend2u
I feel sorry for you, in a sense you got chewed up and spat out, it says a lot about you and her that you remain friends to this day, she sounds like she was hurt deeply, I had a marriage end though thankfully it wasn't because of adulty, I found out his escapades after we split up.
Now to the poem again its tight and I couldn't see anything I would change I love your honesty in poetry, so few people truly open themselves up to the world in such a way, people are afraid of the backlash these days and it's understandable given the toxicity of social media. And the internet in general.
I love your style and I love the self-deprecation, its truly refreshing.
Kind Regards Seren (again no x's or o's) ok ok I will stop it now ;)
Thanks for your comments Seren
Yes their break up was bitter - and I don't think that she has got over it by a long chalk. I can see it in her face.
Entend2u
It doesn't matter man or woman the grief and loss at losing a marriage never leaves you until you find another that supersedes that.
They say time heals all wounds but that's bull, your heart just gets bigger to hold more pain and joy Imo.
Kind Regards Seren
Cheers

Yeah...
I am afraid that there was one like that in my world too. We had that discussion, and she could barely keep from laughing.
She's gone now, and so too, the fear of her someday revealing my secret desire for her. [I don't think she ever would have]
but ya never know. A night out with the girls all drinking and...
Anyway, your story is interesting, the work is good and I don't see anything to fault. ~ Geez.
.
Thanks Geezer
Some say risk nothing, try only for the sure thing,
Others say nothing gambled nothing gained,
Go all out for your dream.
Life can be lived either way, but for me,
I'd rather try and fail, than never try at all, you see.
Some say "Don't ever fall in love,
Play the game of life wide open,
Burn your candle at both ends."
But I say "No! It's better to have loved and lost,
Than never to have loved at all, my friend."
When many moons have gone by,
And you are alone with your dreams of yesteryear,
All your memories will bring you cheer.
You'll be satisfied, succeed or fail, win or lose,
Knowing the right path you did choose.
