Just a Star

So I want to know
what am I in this life?

the answer's cutting edge
surely cuts like a knife

because there has to be a blade
that's honed and cuts true

and that's the blade deep inside of you.

They'll blame it on surroundings
and the powers that be,
blame it on the wind, or the fallen tree,

I'm not going to let them blame it all on me,
I'm just a star Universally.

Who am I,
in the grandest of schemes?

a reflection of my life
plus my wildest dreams,

all I have inside me is love, and hope
now they even have me under a microscope!

I'm getting blamed because I wrote this verse
then blame the wind, or the fallen tree;

they're going to blame it all on me, or worse!
I'm just a star in a Universe.
