We all were once
green leaves
plucked by someone daily
some kissed us sweetly
then after the fragrance taken
threw it back into a drain
to again
with the earth meet
for certain
some leaves are plucked
and made into tea
but many
like you and me
are placed in confined valleys
or drier allies
in water filled glasses
then just to be thrown
down the drain
not to leave
even a trace of memory
like you and me
you live still
but what of me
just another dying
autumn leaf

Just Another Autumn Leaf
Hello, Lovedly,
You have captured the sadness and loneliness of Autumn. For many, it is a favorite time of year since it is so striking and beautiful, but there is also the reality of winter. This poem is quiet and beautiful. I look forward to an equally beautiful poem this Spring.
Thank you!

sure enough
if I survive the bitter winter
over here
come spring
we shall re-spring and swing
I can advance it
if you wanna spring
and want a poetry string
