i can not love you more

i can not love you more
than i have loved you
for i have loved you long
and held your love so dearly
in my heart of hearts but now
my eyes have opened
to find my heart in mourning

and when the first bird
sings outside my bedroom window
he sings a sorrowful song
for you have found me lacking
though i can not understand
the how and why of it
and yet my love for you
was gentle and long suffering

This is a sad listing of the emotions we go through during any kind of loss. But the good thing is, there is always a never ending supply of love. And we are never lacking - we just haven't quite been discovered yet.

This too shall pass.

Love is an age old topic that always makes for a poem or two.

Sounds as though you have been through heartbreak. I like this poem a lot as well.
Beautifully written, i wish i could write this well. Mine are normally about love, lost love and emotions or animals. I enjoyed this one.

The concept of grief has changed
In this small poem

GRIEF MODERNISED

Grieve not for my loss
Also do not mourn
Each morn

Just believe me and say
Twas good
I'd loved and lived some day
And
The wind did blow me away
Like a candle of sorts
That’s just by the way.

Grieve not hence for me
From this moment
This day
I beseech you
If you love me
The same way
