Humans Undone

God, hear my plea
I am lost in the dark
Broken and afraid
In this path, I see
People so much like me:
Strangers hungry since birth,
Innocence begging for pity,
Women dressed in riches,
Faces smudged in tears,
Beauties smiling like witches,
Downtrodden bowing so lowly,
And fools seeking immortality.
There are the homeless,
Genuine hearts looking straight,
Asking for a penny
To live through the day
Unwanted wanting to be wanted,
Dolls dreaming to be free,
Young fortunate souls playing the victims,
Foolish minds inflicting harm on their flesh
And the dying fighting for their lives.
I see...
Education that distorts rationality
Knowledge that contradicts spirituality
Intelligence that neglects humanity
And faith that doubts the existence of Eternity.
So my Lord, answer me!
My Absolute Deity, tell me...
My God...
Have we become undone?
