How High The Moon

The moon is so far out of reach
as well as my needs
the anguish
of starting over
in life and love
I may as well be reaching for the moon

stargazing or ,wishing on a star
all utter nonsense
as far as that will go

Turn back time
that cannot be done
forward marching ever on
but to what drum?

Destined to live a life of solitude
and so I go on
my mind a silent movie
yet I am planted on solid ground

Still what is it all for
this obscure existence
where time and space meet
ever knowing how it will end

Driven, I am driven
but what is it I seek?
happiness with myself , peace endless peace
so that I may be at rest within my own mind

Hello, Chrys,
I hear ya, with this one! It's as if it is written for me, or at least, someone like me. My interpretation stirs up the feelings I have about going forward in my solitary life since my husband passed over 11 years ago. I feel too young and full of life to not contemplate another partner, but really - "how high the moon?" As if magic happens twice... Love your ending, which of course, is what we all want. Good, good.
Thank you!

are made to be taken, dreams are meant to be followed. You have tapped into the minds of everyone that is alone. Not only those that have lost a partner, as love; but those who never had the privilage to be a part of such a union. I see those who
watch others hug, kiss and touch each other. They seem to draw away from the rest of the outside world, for just that instant.
And you just know, that they are wondering what it is like and can they achieve it? Be your smiling happy self, be alert for signs. Not everyone is brave enough to try, keep looking for the magic. ~ Gee.
