HINTS

My snoring woke me up today
causing me to squint my eyes
from an early morning's sun ray.
She's gone but that's no surprise.

Today isn't her day off,
There's the indentation where she slept
an outline in ordinary cloth
upon which we've loved and wept.

Over there lie her ratty shoes
that she wears around the house
or while searching some puzzle book's clues
as she sits quietly as any mouse.

Then I roll over to the radio
fumble a bit and turn it on.
It's on her favorite morning show,
Her music fills up the late dawn.

I smile, sit up and start my day
then stretch inhaling new day's air.
Her faint scent hasn't gone away.
It lingers although she's not there.

to start your day like that. Of course, it would be nicer if she were home, but she'll be home soon and you can show her this poem and she will be pleased that you thought of her first thing you woke. How marvelous to have this love. Romance is only a thought away. Nice stuff.~ Gee.

LMAO, typos haunt my stuff like angry ghosts. But it's good that I have friends to point them out else I'd not have become a wealthy man from selling poetry .....................................

Hi, Stan,
What an endearing poem about simple appreciation for a loved one - and all this before even getting out of bed! I especially like the reference to her shoes, such a warm visual. And of course, her fragrance...
Your title is perfect!
Thank you!
