Happy New Future

During a single turn of this globe,
Energy persists, unaffected, indifferent.
For universally everything is equal.
But psychologically, as people we cling to hope
for better futures;
It is the annual refreshing of endeavour.
It is the one essential driver of survival.
All matter crosses this theoretical threshold,
As the edge of time passes over,
like the dawning. It can be likened to the sweep
of mammalian hands,
Around the face of an imagined clock.
There however, is still no proof of time.
Not one of us is convinced,
Except by its passage and perceived effect.
All explanations are futile. We live by repetition,
Through moments, And by global seasons.
We are in essence, Life revolving.
What we do feel is hunger, Cold air or surfaces,
Hot air or the meaning of words.
And solemn promises to each other.
But tonight we anticipate change.
We have experience of the cycle.
We have mastered this notion,
And as the year ends,
Midwinter signals a change is due.
When hope springs eternal,
There is a desire abroad
For better times to come.

So each blesses each, with all good wishes,
For happiness in their future.

Geezer

message! Your title is very good and describes the message perfectly. I just question the use of capitals in the words,
unaffected and indifferent? Not that it is a glaring error or anything, just a curious anomaly. ~ Geezer.

Geezer, Thanks again for your attention. Yes, unnecessary capitalisations in both cases. In transiting from ‘Word’ it got past my FMEA! I’ll sort it and also revisit the Failure Mode and implement a permanent corrective action.

Thanks for the heads up.
