As promised here are 3 more forms
Free Verse
The high wind swirls in this ravine
setting off whirl winds, scattered
mostly defined by dirt and duff
save one
A single golden poplar leaf
freshly fallen and still perfect
twists and turns pirouetting
joyfully
Climbing higher, ever higher
becoming a mere speck
then releases for a terminal tumble
floating in a lengthy falling
its final swan song ballet
Western Classic
Strolling on a windy day
in deep hollow beneath wind's fray
where captured breeze is set to spinning
miniature twisters' are beginning
The scattered whirlwinds lifting duff
dirt, debris, and other stuff
save for one whose vortex blows
a poplar leaf that almost glows
This single golden poplar leaf
displays dance skills beyond belief
as it turns and pirouettes with joy
there are no moves it won't employ
The zephyr carries it so high
it's just a speck in cold blue sky
now released by swirling wing
it gracefully starts to descend
in studied arcs as it floats down
toward its final resting ground
it performs its swan song ballet
on this lonely windswept day
Parallel
This is a form I developed to tell the same story from two different viewpoint simultaneously. It should be read 1st stanza on left, 1st stanza on right; 2nd stanza on left, 2nd stanza on right and so on 'till complete
Leaf Wind
I am a single poplar leaf I am a cold December wind
freshly fallen without wear lifting duff as well as leaf of gold
my golden hue beyond belief I know my zephyrs will soon end
dancing as if I have no care whirlwinds never do grow old
Here within this windswept hollow The poplar leaf that I propel
I twist and turn in blissful joy to elevate and twist around
while daring other foliage follow causing it to dance so well
copy the steps that I employ I lift him farther from the ground
I pirouette to gain more height Until the leaf's so far and high
until the ground is far below he's barely within sight
now the time is finally right a burnished speck within the sky
for my support to cease to blow as high as any lofty kite
While I fall I dip and swerve My whirlwind now exits my fare
and gyrate almost every way so he begins to sway and fall
this final swan dive meant to serve swan diving through still air
a fitting end to this ballet a ballet at end of autumn's bal
