A funny thing happened on the way here
I can't remember what it was
I think I stopped to have a beer
That may be why or maybe just because
I followed you to Laughter Street
There was no other way to go
And because you lost your feet
I laughed at you, you know
The way you fell upon your bum
In an awkward, funny dance
Made me think of a person dumb
With fire in their pants
You hopped and skittered all around
Like a dancer in a fit
Because of you, I think I found
The way to laughter's wit
But now it's over and I find
With chuckles and a grin
I really think I've lost my mind
This poem, it can't win

I think it's funny watching others fall as long as they don't get injured. Ever noticed that no matter where you are and whether anybody is around the first thing a person does after they trip or fall is to look and see if anybody saw them?lol. Indeed a few years ago I slipped on a muddy spot on a hillside about a mile from nearest road. Thought my knee would kill me but first thing I did was look around hoping nobody saw
Yeah...
Ain't that the truth? Never wish to see anyone hurt, but it sure can be funny.
I love to see them fall after skating around on the ice or in a slippery spot of oil or something. Thanks for stopping by. ~ Gee.

I saw a video...
of someone on TV the other night; [one of those shows that show people in awkward situations] and he slipped and slid like he was in a dance. That's what prompted this one. I never want to see someone hurt, and hopefully he wasn't. it sure was funny though. Yes, I have taken a few falls myself and once or twice, I have been hurt. But, still would have loved to seen a video of it. Geezer.

My favorite stanza and the whole is well said.
Funny Thing...
Hi, Geezer,
"...fire in their pants.' So true. There is no graceful way to fall, which is why I pop right back up and spring both arms in the air - touchdown! I like your title! Very funny poem!
Thank you,
L
Strange enough
I never laugh when I see someone falling... Maybe I put myself in his/her shoe?
But your poem tells true about peole I've watched through out my life and trust me they weren't few :)
