FROST FLOWER (for Jayne)

Out in the wilds where life runs free
a flower grows innocuously
no hint what it will come to be
as autumn raises its cold head.

A slim green stalk with few small leaves
in bunches it sways in cooling breeze
it's but awaiting a light freeze
before waking petals from their bed.

Then just after the first light frost
yet before hard freeze when all is lost
it blooms with blue flowers embossed
usually near an old homestead.

Sometimes the blue is joined by white
as they explode in color over night
while other flowers fade from sight.
They supplant the yellows and the red.

So flower, far across the sea
who's awaiting winter anxiously
blossom at least once more for me
before you lie down in your bed.

When we're down or in trouble it's always a good thing to know that there are those who love us. Jayne is no different and hopefully this raised her spirits a bit..........stan

I send thoughts to Jayne each day either on Face Book or Neopoet or "E" Mail, we have been in constant touch for ages.
I leave messages for her all over the place and have been a constant companion, she calls me Da now and I am so pleased that honour has been bestowed on me.
I shall once again compose a piece to lift her spirits as much as I can, we stand there with her as much as possible and the Children I have around are there to let her smile and be at peace with her think.
It has been a hard journey for Jayne I only wish that I could help more.
You both take care and thank you for your ways they are of a great man, Yours, Ian..

In poetic form what you have done Stan is sent a warm comforting hug to Jayne. I am sure she has felt it and will draw energy from it.
