Everything Starts With a Vision and a Dream

What did it take
To be the first to fly?
It all started with
A twinkle of an eye
Seeing a single
Bird in flight
(Oh to be in the minds
Of the Brothers Wright!)

Who was the first
To think up a submarine?
That bullet-shaped
Underwater machine
Perhaps it started with
A whale or a shark
And the ambition to reach
The maker’s mark

Cause everything starts
With a vision and a dream
As crazy or impossible
As it seems
A single idea
Can get the wheels turning
Just a little wonder lead
To a lifetime of learning

How did we get movies
Up on the screen
The wonderful capability
To film scene after scene?
It started with a
Single camera frame
And the desire for a story
To reach worldwide fame

Who first imagined
The World Wide Web?
It started as a blip
In someone’s head
Then with years of careful
Tinkering and planning
Your homemade song or video
Could become continent spanning

Cause everything starts
With a vision and a dream
As crazy or impossible
As it seems
A world of opportunity
Begins in the heart
So don’t be afraid
Of a very simple start
