DE JA VU ALL OVER AGAIN

Here we go another round.
Seems that I've been here before
and not very long ago.
repeatedly on the same ground.
Another pass beside the shore.

Why. I wonder, is it so?
I get this sense of de ja vu.
I've been in this self-same spot
where the tall green grasses grow
taking in exactly this same view.

Perhaps my mind's begun to rot
or maybe it's reincarnation.
Maybe interdemensional drift
parallel but the same spot
due to nuclear vibration.

Whatever, here I am again
beneath a sky as clear as glass.
Same roar beside exact same tree.
Same sore knee, same old pain.
I surely do hate cutting grass.

Geezer

this guy reminds me of the character in my poem: "Leave Me Alone"! They probably should be neighbors! A fun look at the joys of mowing the lawn! My landlord does my postage-stamp-sized front lawn with a weed whacker and the sandy uphill slope of the backyard, with an ancient, wheezing two-cycle power mower, so I don't have the pleasure. I do however, have to rake the leaves; as he figures they are all through growing. You don't need to be told that your rhythm is as ragged as my front lawn; so I won't belabor the point. I enjoyed the picture [although I fully expected an [ass] to crop up somewhere in this poem]; due to the amount of chances to rhyme with grass! ~ Gee.
