Dark Guardians (Horror Story WS Part 3 The last chapter after ''The Son of Evangeline'')

Evangeline faced her old nemesis
who raised his chin and stared at her.
She had come to deliver her justice
and save her son, the curse-bearer.

The Devil summoned the dead to rise
but his dark spell met its abrupt end
when she willed the earth to hurt his eyes
as it crushed the army hell had sent.

An arm raised, the Devil's palm thrust forward
and the witch-guardian was flung into the trees.
Her foe laughed, pressing his charge onward
toying with her body as much as he pleased.

She ignored the pain to reach her son,
calling out to him with her inner voice.
Once the devil's hold on him was undone
he rose to make his own choice.

Rushing to save the mother he never knew,
he embraced the beast within willingly.
Before the Devil's blade could strike true,
Marcus leapt to attack the enemy.

Evangeline raised her arms to the heavens
and the forest animals answered her silent call.
They came to fight as her loyal servants,
big and small, united as one and all.

The body of the Devil's host reduced to shreds
as he found himself humiliated with defeat.
He gasped aloud, weakened as his veins bled.
He narrowed his hate-filled eyes and grit.

'' You may have won now but I will be back!'
Mortals' hearts are weak. They're easily seduced.
You wait and see! I'll turn this world into a wreck!''
so says the Devil as he left the body, overused.

Evangeline clutched her son's right shoulder.
She smiled, feeling pride bursting in her heart.
She introduced herself as his mother
and told him they will never, ever part.

They left the village to enter the forest
to face a new beginning together.
Thus the beast form no longer a curse
and Marcus became a true shapeshifter

They become the guardians of the forest,
God's vengeance upon evil men.
They show no mercy to the merciless
as they wage a war against mortal demons..

Your Trilogy was top line and probably the best piece of writing I have seen in a long time.
This would be an excellent piece to go into a Neopoet annual of what Neopoet site can do for poetry and writers.
Well done and in you pain you have brought forth a great write,
Yours as always, Ian. T
