…and so, the wars continued on,
and Heaven’s madness was upon us.
large numbers took flight from the city
in search of a safe haven from God’s fury,
for His Wrath was upon us and fear stole
the heart of Man. Faith in a Universal Goodness
that filled the Void of Nothingness no longer
captured their understanding and a sickening
Inquisition of Truth troubled their Soul …

great write, and it all may
great write, and it all may well be true, though I, myself, am not troubled by an 'inquisition of truth'.
I enjoy your concise way with words and structures...quite impressive
at times I wonder if God is
at times I wonder if God is dead. Eternity, too, has an ending.

have you ever read
'HIGH Up in the North in the land called Svithjod, there stands a rock. It is a hundred miles high and a hundred miles wide. Once every thousand years a little bird comes to this rock to sharpen its beak.
When the rock has thus been worn away, then a single day of eternity will have gone by.' (Hendrik van Loom)

As to your poem
A strong write
Great word usage
although, as Al, I too 'am not troubled by an 'inquisition of truth' :-)
I especially like
'Faith in a Universal Goodness
that filled the Void of Nothingness no longer
captured their understanding...'
