cover me in the richness of soul
in highest hopes or deepest woe
in empty darkness, in heaven's glow
full of wonder, filled with hope
cover me here and now
beneath blue skies, behind the plough
over yonder, above a cloud
beyond forever, inside a sound
cover me for it is true
love is blind, love is cruel
love is fine, love is blue
love is master, love is you
cover me where i roam
where mountains climb or rivers bow
where fate decides the ebb and flow
where worlds collide, where love is born
cover me under words and dirt
tall tales, soft whispers, songs of hurt
under broken dreams and prayers unheard
forgotten sins, the forgiving earth

hello r.g. (delete the duplicate post)
the poem flows well from line to line and set to set. these are my favorite lines:
cover me under words and dirt
tall tales, soft whispers, songs of hurt
under broken dreams and prayers unheard
forgotten sins, the forgiving earth

Cover Me
Hello!
I've read this poem several times. I feel that it is describing someone's passing, and their being reunited with the earth, and also with heaven and a beautiful afterlife. Many times I interpret incorrectly, and I apologize is this is the case. But if that is your intention, you have used very honest and beautiful language. My goodness - inside a sound? So poetic. There is the sense of both sadness and peace. I look forward to your response, and the chance to fully understand your poem.
Thank you!

hello Lavender
greetings from niagara, ontario!
thank you for taking time to read 'cover me'
i like your interpretation very much as a rule i try to not comment on "what it means" i prefer to let the reader have their take be the one that matters i do the same with songwriting/lyrics my inspiration for writing it is complicated and i wouldn't want to cloud anyone's feelings about the piece
do you have a poem posted here?
thanks again!
Thank you

Thanks, again!
