The Bar-b-que Invitational

There are basically, but two ways
to accomplish a given task,

if one can research, and become informed
then in the sweet light of success, one will "bask"!

Last month, I tried to move my residence
to a house, where I could better, reside,

however, while asking for neighborly assistance
my friends "dragged their feet", and tried to hide !

Now, I've been there for others,
moving really is a daunting chore,

so with that, I really had no problem
thoughtfully allowing folks to enlist, at my door !

For I alone, am more than capable
of moving myself, you must understand...

..we've all heard that, it takes a village...
..so I actually, was obligated to ask for a hand !

Well, imagine my shock when the big day was here,
and every level of friend that I had;

began calling to explain how they needed more notice,
and that, they can't help.....and all felt, so bad.

Now I'm finally moved, and almost settled in;
but, next time I'll know just what to do...

..I'll call every friend, and acquaintance I know,
and announce invitations to my next bar-b-que !
