Miserably Happy

Backing Away Towards the Sunrise

Backing away from the day to day
I want to leave their way behind
and live next to it and not in it
I gave in and am paying my debt
to a slave driver whose face but
not their heart are ever changing
Souls demanding control of nature?
Hah!, ridiculous
Hubris
Dig up tubers
That users can fuel their
imaginations on
Imagine all the people
living for today
One of John’s best
but don’t leave out the rest
Don’t fret the fret boards
can be repaired
For those who care to return
to a patient journey to the future
Back off recruiters
I’ll be there in a while
Trials have shown me
my pace is and my place is
of my own choosing
I won’t be losing
By following my muse's calls

Geezer

the rhyme and near-rhyme of this. I gives it a good feel. I know the feeling, I always tried to choose jobs that let me have some freedom to do it my way. I wasn't always successful, and spent some miserable days and nights doing the bidding of the "faceless". Nice that "you still have the have the spirit alright" as the man says. ~ Geezer.
