Bacchus
No dark tide of wine can wash
the whale tongue that bleats of fear,
no miracle grape or grain
can coax the whittle wind to dissapear
When silence comes, grasp rushing in
between the lips of miracles shelved
which prophet water will benign begin
to wash the warring wounded self?
Trust then, not in cities
and rationale of fevered minds,
rather find the quiet quell inducing blood
of holy wine
And if this deed will not suffice,
find a fellow mind: entice them
in to your dance of life
and leave the aching sea behind
For all it's flots, and all it's jets
the raging sea soon forgets
and leaves you stranger, on a shore
when you should be with one adored.

nice poem
Although I don't drink wine much anymore, just puts me to sleep, I'm fond of drinking poems, especially by Li Po and Apollinaire. I especially like this stanza:
Trust then, not in cities
and rationale of fevered minds,
rather find the quiet quell inducing blood
of holy wine
I think you have done well with this limited subject.
..
Can be liberating up to a point..
Then all is sleep! I paraphrase Kerouac a bit there. Just a short meditation. Off to read your piece now.
Thanks,
Chris.
I GOT IT!...
I'm not a wine drinker either, but can appreciate the thought! To each their own, and whatever floats your boat! [some of us prefer beer or ale]. Nice work! ~ Geezer.
.
Thanks Geez....
Yes, whatever your tipple - it can initially create, but too much destroys! I don't mind "decent" beer..not the mass produced Duff stuff.
Thanks for getting it.
Cheers,
Chris.
I love this poem.
Interesting poem.
I like the image of whittle wind
it stays throughout the poem and meets you at the end lost on the shore.
I love wine. Its richness and unique tastes. It is always different even between seeps from the same glass. It is not here to solve problems but maybe to create
them. Yes it will leave you empty handed on a shore because it is an illusion. Beautiful illusion though.
Thanks Iriz..
Sometimes (sometimes) it creates beautiful poetry too! Sometimes, you look back on what you did the previous night and wonder..hmmmm..?
Thanks for reading (and getting the wind),
Chris.
