ARCTIC LIGHT

ARCTIC LIGHT
Margaret Ann Waddicor 8th January 2012.

Arctic light
stark white
cut gems ice
flamed turquoise green
dragon universe
magical dream

tongued colour
sky
gold crowns
iridescent drapery
rivers of stars
frosted snowflakes
rainbow blue pink purple jade
drama
effects
dangerous space dance

fire traced whirls
flayling tails
bellowing smoke trails
crash squeal
sounds unheard
perceived
this ball of stone
this earth
this world
spinning

infinity
infinitely distant
imagined real
black space
background
a billions years
traced
sudden explosions
facing east west
Arctic north
Antarctic south
cold poles.

Loved the Painted Northern views they flowed slowly as a glacier and held the beauty of such a place.
The line where you put " dramas effects " not sure if that fits probably change the tense or to Dramatic though dramatic is a harder word to use what do you think .
Great write as usual, Yours Ian.T

You suggested I did it Ian, yes the Arctic has always fascinated me, I read books about the, then called Lapps, now Sami peoples and the Arctic itself. There is a mystery, a quiet in their starkness, like the great wide tundras and prairies, deserts and moors that fixes me in wonder.
Thank you Ian, L Ann.

Just my own thoughts on it Jess, I doubted and you pushed the doubt well into its place confirming my own judgement of this list of words. I shall take note of your warning tankyou!

Skaal Ann.

On this one Jess is right,as it is very hard to write in short lines as it has to flow and still hold its beauty of verse or poetry, I tried this way as I am a fan of Steve's work (Esker) this is his style.
I love the words you have given in this piece as they can be used in a more comprehensive piece that I have written, but today I have already written of Dragon Streams so I think that two pieces inspired by your words is one to many for now so will hold the Arctic Light for a later time, meanwhile take care our lady of Norway, Yours Ian.T

I read my shopping lists aloud
adding strange turns and bends
the above addition
if my thought that looking at ice
is like looking at Sequins that
shine just like diamonds but
have a whole different role
and useage really

"dragon magic dream realm"

I loved labelling..the sale of
goods I can be in a shopping
store forever reading labels
and I read aloud throwing in
extras Like "Wing of Bat" good
for things that go bump in the night( I
even put my reading glasses on)
put the bottle back and say to myself
"Well I have enough for another fortnight"
yes I am crazy!! but happily so

list poems are like slide show of pics
I love showing pics and leaving message
clips along with it
words are like this
create my image and then add some random
twists

"tongued colour sky
adorned in golden crown.."

etc

a great base poem and I have seen images
of the artic which I can only assume is
the most beautiful and haunted spiritual//

Thank You Ann and Ian for thinking of me
its been a great pleasure to read all this
on a snowy wonderful evening in my city!!

Two famous philosophers had a conversation in public, the one formulating his words sounding very erudite, the other mumbling his even better words. The clear speaker was given a good round of applause, when the other said " my colleague here, could make the multiplication tables sound erudite."

Well I've not said it right but you get the gist of it Steven.

As to labels sometimes they are hilarious written obviously by non English speaking people, it gives a quirky twist to the ordinary message they wish to impart.

I think I was expecting too much of my audience, and deliberately leaving the wadding out so as to flick the mind directly into the icy world of the Arctic but I agree it needs some sorting to make it into a 'poem.' ha.

Oh look out there in the twilight BLOOOO s I get so much joy from seeing the hills changing colour, they make my life RICH. The little wooden houses have stars inside them, the milky way of humanity!

Thanky you for coming Steven. Love from Annalsointhecold.
