Ancient Nights

ancient nights,
a lost poem
wandering
long
in communal memory
a silent sigh of deep yearning

moon glow
and murmurs of spring
a lullaby
soothing man and beast

torch and fire tame
dark, and wilds
a festival
for newborn
lamb and child

market place teeming
exotic flavors
and trinkets to tempt
a fair maiden's favor

boisterous tales
boast and bravado
a husky brew enlivens
blustering howls

as the fires fade
along with the night
huddled and happy
dreams take flight

lighting upon
Memory far flung
laying vague
and muted among
^%^&#*@&#*&%#$
an incessant din

blustering howls
favorite line
sounds like kareoke nite
outside my window and
our walkway seating
second floor
Last nite was different
a vibe and female vocalist
playing west coast
nirvana and something
really cool
I greatly appreciate
your style of poetry
an immense pedestrian
birds eye view of the
focus from the street
nothing held back
and a critical share
of the wander

thank U!
